Shortcut Chili Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. peeled and chopped tomatoes
    3 c. chopped celery
    2 c. chopped onions
    1 c. chopped green peppers
    1/4 c. salt
Preparation
    Pour salt over all ingredients and let stand overnight. Drain.
    Place in large kettle and add 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper, 1 1/2 teaspoons pickling spice (tied in cheesecloth) and 1 cup white vinegar.
    Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes.
    Ladle into jars, seal.
    Process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
