Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. Spanish Rice-A-Roni, browned as directed on pkg.
    1 qt. tomatoes
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. cumin powder
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    2 tsp. sugar
    8 oz. mild Cheddar cheese, shredded
    8 oz. Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
Preparation
    Add ground beef and Rice-A-Roni and mix.
    Add seasonings; simmer on low heat until all liquid is absorbed.
    Put 1/2 of mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan and half of shredded cheeses on top of mixture.
    Alternate with mixture and cheeses again.
    Bake at 350\u00b0.
