Aunt Adele'S Lemon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    5 Tbsp. butter
    2 eggs
    grated rind of 1 lemon
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Blend butter and sugar until creamy.
    Beat in eggs.
    Add milk and mix well.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add to batter and beat until smooth.
    Add lemon rind and nuts.
    Place in greased bread pan, about 4 x 8-inch and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    While bread is baking, mix juice of 1 lemon and 1/2 cup sugar until sugar is dissolved (to make a glaze).
    Spoon glaze over hot bread before removing from pan.
    Continue to do so until bread has absorbed all of the glaze.
