Grandma'S Egg Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white waterground cornmeal
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 well beaten egg
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 Tbsp. Crisco
Preparation
    Combine cornmeal, baking powder and salt.
    Add well beaten egg. Stir baking soda into buttermilk; add to mixture.
    Melt Crisco and add.
    Pour into hot, well-greased 9-inch black iron skillet.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until brown and crusty.
