Cream Cheese Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    2 tsp. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease an 8 x 8 x 2-inch square pan.
    Beat butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
    Mix in flour and walnuts until crumbly; reserve 1 cup.
    Press remaining mixture in pan. Bake for 12 minutes.
    Mix cream cheese and granulated sugar.
    Beat in remaining ingredients until smooth.
    Spread cream cheese mixture over crust; sprinkle with reserved mixture.
    Bake until center is firm, about 25 minutes.
    Cool; cut into 1 1/2-inch squares.
    Store in refrigerator.
    Makes 25.
