Ingredients

1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
3 pt. strawberries, washed and hulled
1 c. sugar
3 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. water
few drops red food coloring
whipped cream
Preparation

Wash strawberries and mix sugar and cornstarch in 3-quart saucepan.
Stir in water and mashed berries.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring.
Cool.
Fold remaining 2 pints berries into cooled mixture.
Pile into pie shell and chill.
Serve with whipped cream.
