1/4 c. margarine or shortening
1 c. self-rising cornmeal
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
1/2 tsp. salt
2 large eggs
1 c. milk
Preparation

Place shortening in an 8 x 8-inch pan and let it melt while you assemble the rest of the ingredients.
