Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix as written.
    When stiff enough to handle, break off pieces of dough and pat flat; place on greased pan.
    Bake slowly until brown around edges.
    These are brittle.
    If soft cakes are desired, add a little milk.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 depending on oven.
