Porcupine Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs (approximately 1 slice)
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. uncooked long grain rice
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, undrained and chopped
    1 c. dry red wine
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1 green pepper, halved, seeded and cut in 1-inch square (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Combine the beef, bread crumbs, onion, 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, 1/4 teaspoon of the pepper and the rice in a medium size bowl.
    Mix together until well blended. Divide the mixture into balls and set aside.
