Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. bicarbonate of soda
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 Tbsp. butter
    milk
Preparation
    Sift the first 4 ingredients into a bowl.
    Rub in butter; mix in enough milk to make a soft but not sticky dough.
    Turn the dough onto a floured surface; knead it lightly.
    Roll the dough out to a thickness of about 3/4-inch; cut as many scones as possible, using a 2 1/2-inch round cutter.
    Gather up the scraps; re-roll them to cut out more scones.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes, or until well risen and golden brown.
    Cool on a wire tray.
    Makes 8.
