Marinated Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 (17 oz.) can drained small green peas
    1 (12 oz.) can drained Shoe Peg corn
    1 (15 oz.) can drained French-style string beans
    1 (2 oz.) jar drained pimento (optional)
    1 c. chopped celery (optional)
    1 c. chopped onion (optional)
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients in small saucepan.
    Bring to a boil for 1 minute.
    Let cool completely.
    Combine the remaining ingredients; toss lightly.
    Pour marinade over vegetables.
    Stir gently.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.
