Aunt Viola'S Clam Pie(An Old Eastern L.I. Tradition) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pastry for 2 (9-inch) crusts
    4 medium potatoes
    4 medium onions
    1/4 c. butter
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    12 chowder clams, opened
    1/2 c. clam juice
    1/2 c. cream or milk
Preparation
    Slice potatoes and onions and parboil 15 minutes in water barely to cover.
    Drain.
    To potatoes and onions, add butter; sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper.
    Add clams, clam juice and cream or milk; stir and bring to a boil.
    Put in pastry-lined pie pan.
    Cover with top crust; seal edges and slit top.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 15 minutes, then at 400\u00b0
    for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Serve hot.
