German Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. margarine
    2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 head red cabbage, shredded
    1 c. red wine
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Melt margarine in Dutch oven.
    Add apples and onion; saute. Add cabbage, wine, cloves and sugar.
    Pour vinegar over cabbage first to prevent it from losing red color.
    Simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
    Makes 6 servings.
