Peanut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. white corn syrup
1 1/2 c. raw peanuts
3 drops red food coloring
2 Tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. salt

Preparation

Combine sugar, water and syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Add peanuts, food coloring and cook until hard-ball stage or 250\u00b0 on candy thermometer. Remove from heat; add butter and salt. Beat until mixture begins to sugar and thickens.
Turn out onto greased cookie sheet. Either slice into squares or break into pieces while still warm.
