Grandmother Haggard'S Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. whole milk
    5 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Warm milk in double boiler.
    Beat eggs.
    Add sugar.
    Pour into warm milk in thin stream.
    Stir until custard thickens (forever!) and coats spoon.
    Remove from heat.
    Continue stirring until cool. Add a generous amount of cognac (Grandmother used a good bourbon) before serving.
