Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 eggs, well beaten
    3 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk with 1 tsp. soda
    1 c. raisins or chopped dates
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. cloves
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. jam
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 tsp. allspice
Preparation
    Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Sift flour with all spices and salt.
    Mix soda with buttermilk.
    Add to flour mixture alternately with beaten eggs; beat well after each addition. Sprinkle a small amount of flour over fruits or nuts; add jam and fold in batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
