Orange Slice Candy Cake - cooking recipe

1 c. butter or 2 sticks margarine
2 c. sugar
4 c. cake flour or plain flour
1 tsp. soda
pinch salt
4 eggs
1 1/3 c. buttermilk
1 lb. dates (chopped)
1 lb. orange slice candy (chopped)
2 c. nuts (chopped)
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add buttermilk and soda; mix well. In a separate container, mix flour with candy, dates and nuts, then add creamed mixture. Bake in greased and floured tube pan 2 1/2 hours at 275 degrees.
