Great Grandma'S Soft Gingerbread Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. syrup
1 c. boiling water
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
Preparation

Sift flour, soda, spices and salt.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add syrup.
Blend well.
Add flour mixture and boiling water alternately to creamed mixture.
Stir in eggs and blend well.
Pour in greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
