Chicken Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    5 Tbsp. water
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. salt
    1 to 2 tsp. tarragon
Preparation
    Mix well. Roll out thin on floured surface.
    Let dry at least 10 minutes or pinch off to your liking.
    Put into a pot of boiling chicken broth and 1/2 stick butter.
    Boil 10 minutes.
    Make a roux from 1/2 stick butter and 1/4 cup flour.
    Be sure it is good and smooth before putting into broth.
    You can add chicken before thickening if you wish; it isn't a must.
