Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 oz. red food coloring
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
2 c. plain flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 Tbsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Grease and flour desired pan.
Cream Crisco and sugar.
Add eggs, food coloring and vanilla.
Beat well.
Add sifted dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
Mix well after each addition.
Beat until smooth.
Fold in, do not beat, vinegar and baking soda.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes, until toothpick in center come out clean.
Makes a double layer 9-inch cake or 13 x 9 x 2-inch cake.
