Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. potatoes, peeled and diced
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cornstarch
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. cream or half and half
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. mustard
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. onion, chopped
    4 eggs, hard-boiled and sliced
Preparation
    Cook potatoes until soft.
    Beat eggs; add sugar, cornstarch, salt, pepper, cream, vinegar and mustard.
    Cook until thick.
    Add butter and mayonnaise.
