Boiled Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. hot water
1 c. shortening or 3/4 c. oil
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. raisins
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg

Preparation

Combine and boil water, shortening or oil, sugar, salt, cloves, cinnamon and raisins. Cool.
