Wash-Day Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can fruit or 2 c. sliced fruit
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/4 c. sugar (save 1/4 c. for top)
    1/2 c. margarine
Preparation
    Melt margarine in 8 x 11-inch pan.
    Place drained fruit in pan.
    Mix other ingredients and pour over fruit.
    Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar over batter.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0 (for 45 minutes if gas oven).
