Stuffed Cabbage In Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 c. cooked rice, cooled
    1 small chopped onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 egg
    12 cabbage leaves
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/4 c. water
    oil
Preparation
    Mix the ground beef, rice, onion, salt, pepper and egg until well blended.
    Trim off thickest part of stem from cabbage leaves. Divide meat mixture into 12 portions.
    Wrap each in a leaf, fastening with toothpicks.
    Brown cabbage rolls in oil.
    Add contents of 2 cans of tomato sauce and 1/4 cup water.
    Cover; simmer for 40 minutes.
    Makes 6 servings at 315 calories per serving.
