Southern Gal Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cream of tartar into bowl.
    Add the shortening to the flour mixture to blend together until of cornmeal-like consistency.
    Pour milk into flour mixture slowly.
    Add egg.
    Stir to a stiff dough.
    Knead five times.
    Roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut with 1 1/2-inch cutter. Bake on an aluminum cookie sheet for 10 to 15 minutes at 450\u00b0.
