Ingredients

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. softened butter
1 egg
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour (do not pack, level off)
Preparation

In a large bowl combine sugar, soda, cream of tartar, salt, vanilla, butter and egg.
Mix with mixer on low speed for about 1 minute or until well blended.
Gradually add flour; blend at low speed until well mixed.
If desired, tint with a few drops of food coloring.
