Scalloped Potatoes - cooking recipe

6 to 8 potatoes, pared and sliced
3 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
2 c. milk
2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Cook sliced potatoes until just tender; drain.
In separate saucepan, melt butter; blend in flour, salt and pepper.
Add milk, cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
Add 3/4 of the cheese and blend well.
Mix cheese sauce with potatoes.
Turn into 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Top with remaining cheese.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
