Ingredients

1 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1/2 to 1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Gradually add flour and mix in. Shape with hands.
Pat into 2 cookie sheets.
Bake at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until golden and lightly brown around edges. Cut into squares.
