Shoney'S Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. boiling water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 qt. strawberries
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. strawberry jello
2 or 3 drops food coloring
1/2 pt. whipping cream

Preparation

Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Add water and cook until thick.
Add jello and coloring.
Let cool.
Line a baked pastry shell with berries.
Pour mixture over berries.
Place in refrigerator and let congeal.
Top with whipped cream (optional) or Cool Whip.
