Shrimp Gumbo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and cleaned
    2 c. fresh okra, sliced or 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen okra, sliced
    1/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. sliced onion
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 c. hot water
    1 c. canned tomatoes
    2 whole bay leaves
    6 drops liquid hot pepper sauce
    1 1/2 c. cooked rice
Preparation
    Saute okra in shortening for 10 minutes or until okra appears dry, stirring constantly.
    Add onion, garlic, salt, pepper and shrimp.
    Cook for 5 minutes.
    Add water, tomatoes and bay leaves and add liquid hot pepper sauce.
    Serve over rice.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
