Fire And Ice Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large ripe tomatoes
    1 large green pepper
    1 large onion (preferably red or sweet)
    3/4 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. celery salt
    4 1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/8 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Skin tomatoes and cut into quarters. Slice peppers into strips. Slice onion into thin rings. Arrange vegetables into neat sections in a large Pyrex bowl. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan and boil furiously for one minute. Pour over vegetables. Cool slightly and refrigerate. Just before serving, sliced cucumbers can be added.
