Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 slice bacon, cut in half
    2 Tbsp. diced onion
    1 small potato, peeled and diced
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1 (8 oz.) can minced clams (undrained)
    1 c. milk
    1 stick butter
    1 pt. half and half
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
Preparation
    Cook bacon until crisp; drain on paper towels and reserve drippings.
    Saute onion in reserved bacon drippings until tender; set aside.
    Combine potatoes, water, salt and pepper in a saucepan; cook over medium heat just until potato is tender.
    Stir in clams, milk, butter and onion; simmer 3 minutes or until well heated.
    Crumble bacon over each serving.
    Yields 2 servings.
