Baked Pears Delicious - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 pears, peeled, cored and halved lengthwise
    1 c. Burgundy or other dry red wine
    1 c. sugar
    3 (3-inch) sticks cinnamon
    6 whole cloves
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 lemon, thinly sliced
    sweetened whipped cream (optional)
Preparation
    Arrange pear halves, cut side down, in a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Set aside.
