Porcupine Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg (unbeaten)
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, cut up
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put ingredients in pan and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from stove.
    Add 1/2 cup nuts and 2 cups Rice Krispies.
    Cool until able to handle and form into balls.
    Roll in coconut.
