Nolte'S Serious Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. bacon, cut up, browned, drained and reserved
    1 lb. Polish sausage, thin sliced and browned
    1 large onion, coarsely chopped
    1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans
    1 (15 oz.) can butter beans
    1 (15 oz.) can lima beans
    1 (15 oz.) can homestyle baked beans
    1/2 c. ketchup
    1/2 c. dry red wine
    3 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 or 2 cloves garlic
    black pepper to taste
    Tabasco to taste (add last)
    1 to 2 Tbsp. bacon fat
Preparation
    Start with skillet.
    Brown the bacon; drain and reserve. Brown the Polish sausage; set aside.
    Saute the chopped onion in the remaining bacon fat.
    Open the kidney beans, butter beans and lima beans; drain in colander.
    Combine the remaining ingredients, except bacon fat, with above ingredients.
    Mix all above ingredients together with the bacon fat.
    Bake, uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Serve hot or at room temperature. Better the second day.
    (I usually double recipe.)
