Shrimp Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. margarine
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. bell pepper, chopped
1 can tomatoes
1 pkg. frozen okra
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
3 beef bouillon cubes
4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 c. water
2 lb. shrimp, deveined
3 c. hot rice
Preparation

Melt butter in Dutch oven.
Stir in flour and cook over low heat until brown.
Add celery, onions and bell pepper.
Cook slowly until tender.
Add rest of ingredients except shrimp and rice.
Simmer, uncovered, 45 minutes.
Add shrimp, cover and simmer about 7 minutes or until shrimp are pink and tender.
Serve over hot rice.
Makes 8 servings.
