    12 sliced carrots
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. celery seed
    3 c. buttered bread crumbs
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. dry mustard
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/2 lb. sharp American cheese
