Meringues - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Add sugar gradually to beaten egg whites (stiff, but not too dry).
    Also, add cream of tartar.
    Put brown paper on cookie sheet.
    Drop and shape meringue on paper.
    Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 275\u00b0.
    Take out and loosen and return to oven for a few minutes longer.
