Stuffed Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 green peppers
    1 lb. ground beef
    2 c. cooked rice
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
Preparation
    Cut peppers in half lengthwise.
    Remove seed and scald slightly.
    Combine beef, rice, egg, onion, salt, pepper and 1/4 can tomato sauce.
    Pile meat mixture lightly into pepper halves. Place in large baking dish.
    Top each pepper with rest of tomato sauce.
    Add 1/4 cup water in bottom of pan.
    Cover dish tightly. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until peppers are tender.
    Baste occasionally.
