Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
few drops red coloring
1 c. mashed strawberries
3 c. sliced strawberries
1 baked 9 or 10-inch pastry shell

Preparation

Mix mashed berries, sugar, salt and cornstarch.
Add water, lemon juice and coloring.
Cook, stirring constantly, until clear and thick.
Cool.
Arrange berries in pie crust.
Pour cooked mixture over berries.
Refrigerate.
Serve with whipped cream.
