Corn-Bacon Bake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 slices bacon
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. white corn meal
2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 3 tablespoons drippings.
Crumble bacon finely; set aside.
Stir together flour, sugar, soda and salt.
Stir in corn meal; add buttermilk and reserved drippings and bacon.
Mix well; pour into well greased 1 1/2 quart casserole.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until top is golden brown. Cool; invert.
Cut into thin slices.
Makes 1 loaf.
