Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 egg, unbeaten
    1/3 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sweet milk
    1 round c. sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. flour
    spices (optional)
    flavorings (optional)
Preparation
    Mix the first 4 ingredients thoroughly.
    Add the next 4 ingredients;
    mix thoroughly.
    Add nutmeg, cinnamon (optional) and vanilla
    (optional).
    The\tdough may be rolled and cut or made as\tbiscuits
    by
    hand.
    Bake at
    425\u00b0 until as brown as desired.
