Ranch Style Beans For Fifty - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 lb. red or pinto dried beans
1/2 gal. water, boiling
2 lb. 8 oz. bacon, cut in 1-inch cubes
cold water
3 to 4 pods chili peppers
2 qt. canned tomatoes
8 oz. onions, sliced
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. black pepper
few grains cayenne pepper
Preparation

Wash beans.
Add boiling water.
Cover and let stand for 1 hour or longer.
Add bacon to beans.
Add additional water to cover.
Cook slowly until tender, about 1 hour.
Soak chili peppers in warm water.
Remove seeds.
Add pods to beans.
Add tomatoes and other seasonings.
Cook slowly in kettle an additional 2 hours or pour into a 12 x 20 x 4-inch baking pan and bake at 300\u00b0 for 2 to 3 hours.
