Meat Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 lb. ground beef
2 c. chopped onions
1 c. chopped green peppers (2 medium)
9 c. (5 pt.) cooked or canned tomatoes
4 (6 oz.) cans (2 2/3 c.) tomato paste
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. minced parsley
1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 pt. tomato juice
Preparation

Brown ground beef and onions.
Add green peppers and cook slowly until tender.
Add remaining ingredients.
Simmer until thick enough for serving.
Skim off excess fat before canning. Pour hot into jars, leaving 1-inch head space.
Adjust caps. Process pints 1 hour and quarts for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 10 pounds pressure.
