Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 c. plain flour
1/2 c. cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 c. corn oil
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation

Put all ingredients into large mixing bowl.
Boil 1 cup water; add 1 teaspoon baking soda.
Add to mixture, beating with a spoon until smooth.
Mixture will be very thin.
Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 35 minutes; check for doneness with a toothpick.
