Black Bean Soup-Cuban Style(Frijoles Negros) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. small black beans
    1 large onion (whole)
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 large green pepper, roasted
    1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
    3 to 4 cloves garlic
    1/4 c. olive oil
    1/4 tsp. cumin powder
    1/2 tsp. salt (or less if desired)
    2 bay leaves
    3 to 4 c. water (mineral or well water when possible)
    generous sprinkle of love and caring
    several sprigs of parsley
Preparation
    Wash and rinse beans carefully, selecting out damaged beans (chipped or broken).
    Soak beans two hours before cooking.
    (Do not drain this water which may become discolored, use it for cooking the beans.)
    Poke green pepper with a fork and roast lightly over flame or heat, enough to peel off its skin.
    Remove its seeds and discard.
