Strawberry Glace Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked pie crust
    1 qt. berries
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    3 drops red food coloring
Preparation
    To 3 cups of whole large hulled berries, add 1/2 cup sugar. Let stand 1 hour.
    Cut remaining berries in pieces.
    Put in a small saucepan and add 3/4 cup of water.
    Simmer 3 to 4 minutes. Combine the cornstarch and 1 cup sugar.
    Mix well. Add to simmering berries. Cook until mixture is thick and clear, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
    Add lemon juice and 3 drops red food coloring.
    Cool. Stand whole berries, cut side down, in pie crust.
    Cover with cooled sauce. Chill thoroughly. Decorate with border of sweetened whipped cream.
