Chinese Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef chuck, cut into 3 x 1-inch strips
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. cooking oil
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. green pepper strips
    1 c. sliced onion
    1/2 c. diced celery
    2 tomatoes, cut into 8 wedges
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water
    hot cooked rice
Preparation
    Season meat with salt and brown in hot oil in large skillet. Add soy sauce, garlic and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes until meat is tender. Add green pepper, onions and celery. Cover. Simmer 10 minutes. Add tomatoes.
