Old-Fashioned Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. lemon extract
    1/2 c. shortening (like Crisco)
    4 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. almond extract
Preparation
    Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
    Mix just until blended after each addition.
    Stir in flavorings.
    Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 65 to 70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan, then turn out on wire rack.
