Glorified Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box light brown sugar
    1 1/2 sticks oleo
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. chopped pecans
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. soda
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Mix sugar, flour and oleo as for pie crust.
    Take out 1 cup for the topping.
    Sprinkle soda, nutmeg and cinnamon over the remaining mixture.
    Add to well beaten eggs.
    Mix; add milk.
    Pour into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Add pecans to the cup of mixture saved for the topping.
    Sprinkle this crumb mixture on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
    Use a toothpick to check for doneness.
    Serve warm.
    (This may be reheated in the microwave.)
